Maryland Court of Appeals issued an order moving Primary three weeks until July 19 and the new Candidate Filing Deadline is now April 15th.
- The 2022 Primary for Gubernatorial Elections, scheduled for June 28, 2022, is moved to July 19, 2022;
- The deadline for filing certificates of candidacy, established pursuant to Maryland Code, (1957, 2017 Repl. Vol., 2021 Supp.), Election Law Article (“EL”) § 5-303 as Tuesday, February 22, 2022 and extended by Order of this Court on February 11, 2022 (the “February 11 Order”) to Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at 9:00 p.m., is extended to Friday, April 15, 2022 at 9:00 p.m.;

What does this mean for Scott E’s Blog? Well, my plan is to announce that tomorrow or Thursday after I have some time to think about it. I have already extended the “retirement” of this entity once…not sure I have it in me to extend it again. I will mull it over and let you all know for sure in the next 48 hours.
Scott E
PLEASE delay your retirement from Howard County posts. Given the demise of other local journalism, your blog is especially needed. Just one example: I have been sharing your excellent interviews with candidates with a lot of my friends.
