Reported by Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services on February 21st:
At approximately 6:45 pm multiple 911 calls were received for flames coming from an apartment building in the 5400 block of Harpers Farm Road at Columbia Choice Apartments. Upon arrival, crews found fire showing from the third floor and roof of a 3-story apartment building. Firefighters were able to stop the fire in the apartment of origin and the attic. An additional five apartments received smoke and water damage. One juvenile was transported to an area hospital for smoke inhalation. The HCDFRS Office of the Fire Marshal is currently on scene conducting an investigation. Approximately 20 residents were displaced, and the American Red Cross was requested to assist them.
