Update: NWS Baltimore-Washington has put out some new maps and information this morning (5:16am): Starting to look more like 2 to 3 inches now in Carroll County. I am still holding out hope things shake out on the low end of the forecast.
Here is the latest update to the Winter Weather Advisory and the expected snow for today / tomorrow in Carroll County:
…WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM SUNDAY TO 1 AM EST MONDAY…
* WHAT…Mixed precipitation. Total snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches and ice accumulations of up to one tenth of an inch. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph.
* WHERE…Portions of The District of Columbia, central, north central, northeast and northern Maryland and northern Virginia.
* WHEN…From 1 PM Sunday to 1 AM EST Monday.
* IMPACTS…Plan on slippery road conditions. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches.
Here are recent maps shared by NWS Baltimore-Washington:
Looking at that snow total map (map #2 above) it looks like northern Carroll County is expected 2 to 3 inches while southern Carroll County may only see 1 to 2 inches of snow.
Honestly the latest forecast is a little better (less snow) than what was reported earlier this week.
I am planning to provide snow total updates throughout the day here on the Blog. I will have a post starting around mid-day with multiple updates to snow totals and photos from the Finksburg Fire Pit and the Finksburg Picnic Table.
If you have photos from your area of Carroll County that you would like to share with the readers – send those along to firstname.lastname@example.org later today.
