The COVID-19 positivity rate is nearing 30% in Howard County. Reported on January 2nd (for January 1st) the positivity rate is 29.49% in Howard County and 26.09% across the state of Maryland.

The dataset for local Positivity Rate has not been updated since December 4th…but here is what I was able to pull from the chart on the Maryland Department of Health dashboard for Positivity Rates for Howard County over the past 14 days:
- Jan 1, 2022: 29.49%
- Dec 31, 2021: 27.83%
- Dec 30, 2021: 24.77%
- Dec 29, 2021: 19.47%
- Dec 28, 2021: 17.82%
- Dec 27, 2021: 16.01%
- Dec 26, 2021: 14.47%
- Dec 25, 2021: 14.60%
- Dec 24, 2021: 13.77%
- Dec 23, 2021: 12.58%
- Dec 22, 2021: 11.93%
- Dec 21, 2021: 11.38%
- Dec 20, 2021: 10.52%
- Dec 19, 2021: 9.72%
In two weeks Positivity Rate has gone from below 10% to almost 30%. That is a pretty big jump over 14 days.
Here is a look at the number of new COVID-19 cases in Howard County since December 1, 2021:
December 30th remains the all time high number of new cases in one day (1,103 new cases that day in Howard County).

The CSSE data shows three Howard County MD COVID deaths were reported on Jan 9, 2022 raising the total to 304.
