The dataset for local Positivity Rate has not been updated since December 4th…but here is what I was able to pull from the chart on the Maryland Department of Health dashboard for Positivity Rates for Howard County over the past 14 days:

  • Jan 1, 2022: 29.49%
  • Dec 31, 2021: 27.83%
  • Dec 30, 2021: 24.77%
  • Dec 29, 2021: 19.47%
  • Dec 28, 2021: 17.82%
  • Dec 27, 2021: 16.01%
  • Dec 26, 2021: 14.47%
  • Dec 25, 2021: 14.60%
  • Dec 24, 2021: 13.77%
  • Dec 23, 2021: 12.58%
  • Dec 22, 2021: 11.93%
  • Dec 21, 2021: 11.38%
  • Dec 20, 2021: 10.52%
  • Dec 19, 2021: 9.72%

In two weeks Positivity Rate has gone from below 10% to almost 30%. That is a pretty big jump over 14 days.

Here is a look at the number of new COVID-19 cases in Howard County since December 1, 2021:

December 30th remains the all time high number of new cases in one day (1,103 new cases that day in Howard County).

I will continue to track the local data released by the state or county.
