The Maryland Department of Health has updated their COVID-19 Datasets (the datasets had not been updated since December 4th). The major news and media outlets continue to report out the overall Maryland numbers and I thought I would take a look at the local numbers for my local readers. I started this morning with new COVID-19 cases in Carroll County…so I thought I would do a similar post for my followers in Howard County.

I know that new cases is not the only important dataset to review and as I get time to work through the other updated datasets I will provide additional details for my readers.

Instead of just numbers, how many of those numbers are hospitalized vs asymptomatic or not hospitalized. Also, demographics, ie ages, etc
Thanks Scott, quite the local surge in COVID cases right now, even in a highly vaccinated HoCo public. And I think we can expect that thanks to non-reporting of home tests and public health reporting time lags, and due to isolations and quarantines, and because of seasonal impacts on medical staff and statisticians, the most recent numbers are **lower**, than they really are, as well as to the higher values they will be in due time adjusted.
Sigh. Stay safe everyone, and be vaxxed.
Thanks for the info. Howard is highly vaccinated and has the highest level of Covid19 since this all started. Would love to see the percentage of positive to testing numbers(even looking at 12/28/2020). Must be tons of break through cases.
Stay well!
