Howard County Public School System reports more than 6,100 students in quarantine due to a positive COVID-19 test or as a close contact

The Howard County Public School System (HCPSS) is providing quarantine numbers every Wednesday by 11 AM. Here is the latest information reported:

As of Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2021 (this should read December 21, 2021), there are 6142 students and 241 staff members in quarantine due to a positive COVID-19 test or as a close contact. These numbers will be updated every Wednesday by 11 AM.

Please note that close contact or quarantine does not indicate those students or staff have tested positive for COVID-19. See below for daily and 7-day totals of positive case numbers.

Here are the numbers reported last week (3,712 students and 132 staff members in quarantine).

Here is a look at the current HCPSS COVID-19 dashboard:

The 1,061 new cases reported this past week is a lot higher than last week (401 cases) reported by the HCPSS COVID-19 dashboard. 1,061 represents the highest number ever reported this school year on the dashboard.

Still no history from HCPSS on their COVID-19 dashboard…so here is a look at past numbers reported by HCPSS tracked by Scott E’s Blog:
