Howard County Public School System reports a significant increase in new COVID cases over the past week

The Howard County Public School System (HCPSS) is providing quarantine numbers every Wednesday by 11 AM. Here is the latest information reported:

As of Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2021 (they must have forgot to update the date…I think it should read December 7th), there are 1172 students and 31 staff members in quarantine due to a positive COVID-19 test or as a close contact. These numbers will be updated every Wednesday by 11 AM.

Please note that close contact or quarantine does not indicate those students or staff have tested positive for COVID-19. See below for daily and 7-day totals of positive case numbers.

Here are the numbers reported last week (1,036 students and 29 staff members in quarantine).

Here is a look at the current HCPSS COVID-19 dashboard:

The 137 new cases reported this past week is a lot higher than last week (67 cases) reported by the HCPSS COVID-19 dashboard. 137 represents the highest number ever reported this school year on the dashboard.

Still no history from HCPSS on their COVID-19 dashboard…so here is a look at past numbers reported by HCPSS tracked by Scott E’s Blog:
