Howard County Politics: Natalie Ziegler files to run for Delegate in District 9A in 2022

Previously reported by Scott E’s Blog (Howard County Politics: Natalie Ziegler files a Candidate Committee Registration on November 9th) and today Natalie filed her paperwork to run for Delegate in District 9A (currently representing Carroll County and Howard County):

A quick review of the information noted above show that the website is not online yet. The Facebook page is online but has not been updated since 2019.

Natalie ran for Delegate in District 9A in 2018 and won in the Primary but lost a close race in the General Election.

Here are the results from the 2018 Democratic Primary:

Here are the results from the 2018 General Election:

District 9A covers both Howard and Carroll County (but more Howard County voters than Carroll County voters in that district).

I have not heard anything official from the current Delegates in District 9A of their plans on running in 2022 (Trent Kittleman and Reid Novotny).

I will continue to watch announcements and future filings.

Of note: Reid Novotny was appointed to the seat in 2021: Del. Reid Novotny sworn in to Maryland General Assembly to represent Howard and Carroll, reflects on first day

Of course redistricting could change the lines of the districts which would have a number of elected officials and candidates rethinking their plans.
