The following statement (from November 3rd) from Ian Kennedy, Executive Director of the Downtown Columbia Arts and Culture Commission, regarding the settlement of the lawsuit over the Symphony of Lights was issued today:
“We are excited to again welcome families from across the region to Merriweather Post Pavilion for the annual Symphony of Lights with the support and cooperation of our neighbors at the Columbia Association. We appreciate the willingness of CA’s leadership to work together to resolve our differences and ensure that this long-running Downtown Columbia tradition can continue. Merriweather and Symphony Woods are community gems, and with the diligent, responsible operations of Symphony of Lights, they will sparkle even more brightly later this month. We will continue to work to strengthen our relationship with the Columbia Association for the benefit of our community and look forward to a happy and harmonious holiday season!”

Personally I am just happy that the Symphony of Lights will continue in Howard County. Let’s hope this is fight is now over for good and we can all move forward.
