Continuing my school COVID-19 updates…Carroll County Public Schools (CCPS) is reporting 134 active cases of COVID-19 on October 20th. These numbers are updated every Wednesday of each week. Here is the breakdown of the numbers this week:
- 131 Students
- 3 Staff
Note: Numbers reflect active confirmed positive cases for each week. As a result, these students and staff are in quarantine.
CCPS is also reporting the “Quarantined” number on their dashboard. This week that number is 340. Last week that number was 478. The week before that number was 824.
Note: Quarantine data reflect the number of individuals required to quarantine because they are a close contact to a Positive COVID-19 case. The quarantine data do not reflect individuals in quarantine because they are COVID positive.
As a reminder: Carroll County Public Schools revise COVID-19 quarantine protocols starting October 4th: (Learn More)
“in settings where universal masking is in place, an asymptomatic student who is identified as a close contact to a positive case will no longer need to be quarantined”
Here is a look at the COVID-19 numbers over the past 7 weeks on the dashboard:
It is really nice to see the number of new cases and the number of students/staff quarantined continue to decrease over the past three weeks.
Not listed on the dashboard: On September 17th CCPS had 803 students in quarantine
