Carroll County Public Schools reports 248 active COVID-19 cases and 1,405 quarantined on September 29th

Continuing my school COVID-19 updates…Carroll County Public Schools (CCPS) is reporting 248 active cases of COVID-19 on September 29th. These numbers are updated every Wednesday of each week. Here is the breakdown of the numbers this week:

  • 241 Students
  • 7 Staff

Note: Numbers reflect active confirmed positive cases for each week. As a result, these students and staff are in quarantine.

CCPS is also now reporting the “Quarantined” number on their dashboard. This week that number is 1,405. Last week that number was 1,221. The week before that number was 803.

Note: Quarantine data reflect the number of individuals required to quarantine because they are a close contact to a Positive COVID-19 case. The quarantine data do not reflect individuals in quarantine because they are COVID positive.

Looking at the schools reporting the most cases over the past week (top 3 at each level):

Elementary Schools:

  • Elmer Wolfe: 17
  • Manchester: 16
  • Ebb Valley: 14

Middle Schools:

  • Northwest: 23
  • Sykesville: 10
  • Mount Airy: 10

High Schools:

  • Francis Scott Key: 22
  • Manchester Valley: 13
  • Winters Mill: 9
