Students in Carroll County returned to school on September 8th. The Carroll County Board of Education has opted to keep masks optional for now. Here are some photos (via social media posts) of the first day of school:

Carroll County is one of two counties in Maryland that still have masks optional for students and staff (Learn More). Of course this may be short lived:

Reported by Fox 45 Baltimore on August 30th: Gov. Hogan says he will not waive waiting period to implement mandatory masks in schools.

“The legislative panel has a scheduled hearing for Sept. 14 at 10 a.m. to vote to require masking in all Maryland schools. The meeting will be held virtually.”
