I reached out to Joe and he sent me the photo above and the following information for my readers:
I’ve decided to run for commissioner because this county is home. And I humbly want to offer up what abilities I have to serve our home. As a third-term member of the Taneytown City Council, I currently serve as both liaison to the Police Department and as Mayor Pro Tem. We have a large number of accomplishments, some of which include cutting water and sewer rates, cutting our debt by more than a third, not having to raise the tax rate to do it, and fully backing our police, who have consistently helped keep us among the top ten safest cities in all of Maryland.
I want to translate this kind of experience to service at the county level. I know we’re facing challenges and opportunities in the years ahead, and I’m willing to meet both. In addition to backing law enforcement and community (including everything from a business-friendly environment to supporting fire and rescue to supporting local groups and organizations, etc.), I’ll also include education and agriculture as priorities.
On a personal note, I am Roman Catholic, and Christ is my Lord and Savior. I work as a writer and graphic designer, and in the past, I’ve worked everything from retail to the home improvement trade. I’m a graduate of Mount Saint Mary’s University where I studied history, political science, and philosophy. I use both my real-world experience and my education in my elected service now, and would do the same for Carroll. I put my heart into whatever I do, because at the end of the day, it’s all for home.
