A 2.1 magnitude earthquake hits Howard County on August 4th

According to U.S. Geological Survey’s National Earthquake Center (USGS), the earthquake occurred around 2:00am in Howard County near Clarksville (see the report from WTOP here).

  1. Did not feel it here in Columbia, but that’s because we were asleep. We absolutely felt one in Clarksville a few (maybe more than a few now!) years ago. The family was in the kitchen and one of the kids’ friends, who was from California, told us to get in the doorway. I don’t know if we were more confused about the shaking or what she told us to do.
