Howard Hospital Foundation, which provides philanthropic support to Howard County General Hospital, named Zack Shariff chair of the board of trustees. Shariff is CEO of Allen & Shariff Engineering, a multidisciplinary professional service provider with offices in the U.S., Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
A trustee of the Howard Hospital Foundation board since 2014, Shariff said, “There is an Arabian proverb that says, ‘He who has health has hope, and he who has hope has everything.’ I recognize the significance of health and well-being and am committed to advancing the health of our community by making an investment in Howard County General Hospital.”
Shariff has over 40 years of experience in design, quality control and project management of building mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection systems. He holds a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from the University of Texas and is a registered professional engineer as well as a LEED-accredited professional.
Shariff has lived in Howard County for 24 years and has served on the boards of organizations including FIRN, Howard Community College and Truist. He and his wife, Louann Magi-Shariff, reside in Glenwood.
