As I had hoped, we made it out to the Sykesville-Freedom District Fire Department 2021 Carnival on Monday, June 14th.

We had family, friends and most importantly the little kids with us and so I chose not to bring my nice camera…meaning all of the photos are from my phone (sorry if the quality is not perfect). I made the choice for fun over the perfect photos this afternoon.

We even beat the bad weather tonight (by showing up early and leaving by 8:30pm…upside of being old and having young ones with you at an event like this…LOL):

Here are a few of the photos I captured at the Carnival:

I wanted to give one very special shout out…and that is to the Lions Club of Freedom District (https://www.facebook.com/FD22W/)

One of us had a broken foot and that person was going around on crutches. The people at the Lions Club booth asked if we would be interested in using a wheelchair during the event for that person. We said yes and it made the event even more enjoyable. No cost, just nice people of a wonderful entity offering a nice service.  We used the wheelchair and returned it to their booth before we left. I felt they were super nice and I could not miss an opportunity to say THANK YOU here on the blog.

The event was well attended. Not crowded…but a really wonderful crowd of people enjoying the event.

One last big thank you to the Sykesville-Freedom District Fire Department for putting on such a great event. I look forward to returning soon and in future years.
