Newly redesigned Howard County Government website now online

Happening today: Howard County Executive Calvin Ball will launch his digital equity initiative and unveil the newly redesigned County website on Monday, May 24 at 10:30 a.m. at Troy Hill Park in Elkridge.

I decided to give the current Howard County Government website a look this morning and the new website design has launched.

https://www.howardcountymd.gov/

A couple of things stick out right away:

On the top bar:

  • Links to COVID-19 resources
  • Link to a “Website Redesign” feedback form
  • You can choose different languages
  • And a search tool

Items of note on the left side bar:

  • Links for:
    • Residents
    • Businesses
    • Government
    • Departments-Offices
    • Social media links

The redesign is new and I am still getting a feel for the new site but I like it. It is clean and seems easy to navigate.

If I have any critique of the new website design…the front page on mobile devices is long. You have to scroll a lot to get to the content on the bottom of the home page from your phone.

I look forward to hearing more about the new design later this morning (Learn More).
