Class of 2021 Graduations
Graduation ceremonies will be held Friday, May 28-Friday, June 4. All ceremonies are scheduled to take place at Merriweather Post Pavilion, with the exception of Cedar Lane School, which will be held at that school. Full details can be found online.
Grading and Testing
Answers to frequently asked questions about grading and testing can be found on the HCPSS Help site.
The Board of Education on October 22 voted to temporarily modify sections of Policy 8020 Grading and Reporting: Middle and High School to remove final assessments. This change also introduces new grade calculations, clarifying that for .50 courses, the quarter grade will be the final grade.
Advanced Placement Exams
There are three administration windows, spanning early May through mid-June, that provide traditional, in-school testing options for all AP courses, and back-up, at-home testing options for most AP courses. More information is available online.
Third quarter report cards may be viewed/downloaded via HCPSS Connect Synergy after 4 p.m. on Thursday, April 22. Fourth quarter report cards will be available online at or after the end of the school year. Specific details are forthcoming.
Last Day of School for Students
HCPSS did not use any inclement weather days this school year. As such, the final days for the 2020-2021 school year are as follows:
- Tuesday, June 8 – Last day for half-day Pre-K & RECC*
- Thursday, June 10, Friday, June 11, Monday, June 14 & Tuesday, June 15 – Schools dismiss three hours early
- Tuesday, June 15 – Last day of school for students
*Tuesday, June 8 is the last day for HALF-DAY Pre-K/RECC only. The last day of school for students in FULL-DAY Pre-K/RECC programs is Tuesday, June 15.
