Police confirm ID of Laurel shooting victim, offer reward up to $5,000

Howard County police have confirmed the identity of a man shot and killed in Laurel on March 30. Justin Xavier Stinson, 19, of Savage, was found suffering from a gunshot wound to the torso around 1:30 p.m. in the 9000 block of Stebbing Way. Stinson was transported to the hospital where he died as a result of his injuries.

Multiple 911 callers reported hearing gunshots and seeing a male victim lying on the ground outside of an apartment complex. Police responded and located Stinson. They also located a significant amount of cash and suspected drugs, including numerous unknown tablets, at the scene.

A witness reported seeing someone running in the area around the time of the shooting, but it is unclear if that person was an involved party. A confirmed description is not available. Police have increased patrols in the area.

Detectives are offering a reward of up to $5,000 and asking anyone who may have been in the area or has any information about this case to contact police at 410-313-STOP or HCPDcrimetips@howardcountymd.gov.
