After getting rained out on the 18th runners were eager to get back out on the course and prove themselves once more during this shortened season. On March 21st, runners from Centennial, Marriott Ridge, Hammond, Oakland Mills, and Atholton met Mount Hebron to race their 5k course. At the same time, athletes from River Hill, Long Reach,Wilde Lake, Glenelg, and Reservoir met at Howard to compete on their three mile course.
At Mount Hebron, Centennial men got the road win as a team with 3 runners in the top 5 all running faster than 16:30 times. As for the girls race, Atholton got the team win with four finishers in the top 10. Over at Reservoir, Howard got the win as a team in both the Women and mens races. In the mens two of their runners going below 16:00 which is an incredible feat to accomplish.
This was the second race in a very shortened season. At this point in the season may teams are starting gear up for the county championships which will be ran at Centennial like in many years past.
