During the COVID-19 Vaccination Update Press Conference held by Howard County Executive Calvin Ball on February 23rd the Howard County Public School System (HCPSS) Superintendent Dr. Michael J. Martirano reported out the following:

“To date the Howard County Health Department and Johns Hopkins Medicine have administered a combined 3,700 first doses of vaccines to the Howard County Public School System staff. Staff have also been able to receive the vaccine through providers outside the two affiliate with the Howard County Public School System. Based upon our latest data approximately 60% or 6,000 of our total workforce for the Howard County Public School System has received either their first dose or are scheduled to receive their first dose. And those are very, very encouraging numbers.”
