* WHAT…A light glaze of ice from freezing rain or drizzle.

* WHERE…Portions of north-central Maryland, northwestern
Virginia, and eastern West Virginia.

* WHEN…From 9 PM this evening to 10 AM EST Monday.

* IMPACTS…Very slippery sidewalks, roads and bridges are
possible.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Slow down and use caution while traveling.

When venturing outside, watch your first few steps taken on
steps, sidewalks, and driveways, which could be icy and slippery,
increasing your risk of a fall and injury.

The National Weather Service website lists the following forecast for Carroll County:

Tonight – Patchy snow, freezing drizzle, and sleet before 1am, then patchy freezing drizzle and sleet between 1am and 2am, then patchy freezing drizzle after 2am. Patchy fog after midnight. Otherwise, cloudy, with a low around 30. North wind around 5 mph becoming calm. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Washington’s Birthday – A chance of freezing rain before 9am, then a chance of freezing rain and sleet between 9am and 1pm, then patchy drizzle after 1pm. Patchy fog. Otherwise, cloudy, with a high near 34. Northeast wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 50%.

Monday Night – Freezing rain before 10pm, then rain. Low around 31. East wind around 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New ice accumulation of less than a 0.1 of an inch possible.
