Public Notice for Hearing on Statewide Issues on Zoom
Tuesday, February 16, 2021 – 7pm
The Howard County Delegation of the Maryland General Assembly, chaired by Senator Clarence Lam and Delegate Jessica Feldmark, will hold a public hearing for citizen input on statewide issues that are being considered by the Maryland General Assembly this legislative session. This year, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the hearing will be held via Zoom.
The hearing can be watched live on the Maryland General Assembly website. The live stream will be accessible through the Maryland General Assembly website home page (http://mgaleg.maryland.gov). Scroll down to Today’s Calendar. Click on the arrow next to Committee Meetings under Other, and then select Howard. Next, click on the red Live! button, which will open the streaming video on YouTube. (The Live! button will appear when the meeting goes live.) The meeting can also be viewed on the YouTube channel linked here. The hearing will be recorded and available to view on the MGA and Howard County Delegation websites soon after it takes place. The Delegation will hear oral testimony from members of the public on any statewide issue they would like to bring to the Delegation’s attention. Howard County local bills and bonds that have not yet had a public hearing will also be heard at this time. No Howard County local bills or bond requests that were previously given a public hearing will be heard. You may sign up on the Google form linked here. Signup for oral testimony will close at 11:59pm on Sunday, February 14, 2021.
Please note that speaking is not a requirement, and members of the public may also submit written testimony. If you would like to submit written testimony, please email a pdf file of your testimony to firstname.lastname@example.org. The file name should include your first and last name and the subject of your testimony.
While there is no deadline for submitting written testimony, please be advised that in order to ensure members of the delegation receive and have an opportunity to review it before this hearing, it should be submitted by email to the Howard County Delegation Administrator at email@example.com by Sunday, February 14, 2021.
