It very much looks like more snow is headed for our region starting late tonight / early tomorrow morning (February 7th).

Here is area information from NWS Baltimore – Washington Twitter account as of February 5th at 3:30pm:

A Winter Storm Watch has been issued for much of the region starting Saturday night and continuing through Sunday afternoon. Snow accumulations of 5 inches or more are possible in the watch area.

Winter Storm Warning in effect from February 7, 03:00 AM EST until February 7, 12:00 PM EST

…WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 3 AM TO NOON EST SUNDAY…

* WHAT…Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 3 to 6
inches.

* WHERE…The District of Columbia, and portions of central
Maryland and northern Virginia.

* WHEN…From 3 AM to noon EST Sunday.

* IMPACTS…Travel could be very difficult.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Snow is expected to begin between 3 AM and
5 AM, and may briefly mix with rain at first. The heaviest snow
is expected between 6 AM and 10 AM, when visibility may be
reduced to a quarter mile and snowfall rates could reach one
inch per hour.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in
your vehicle in case of an emergency.

When venturing outside, watch your first few steps taken on
steps, sidewalks, and driveways, which could be icy and slippery,
increasing your risk of a fall and injury.

Carroll County (Westminster):

Today: Increasing clouds, with a high near 42. West wind 9 to 16 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph.

Tonight: Snow likely, mainly after 4am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 29. Calm wind becoming east around 6 mph in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.

Sunday: Snow, mainly before noon. High near 35. Light and variable wind becoming northwest 5 to 10 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 3 to 5 inches possible.

Howard County (Columbia):

Today: Increasing clouds, with a high near 46. Southwest wind 6 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 26 mph.

Tonight: Snow, mainly after 4am. Low around 30. Light and variable wind becoming east around 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.

Sunday: Snow, possibly mixing with rain after 2pm, then gradually ending. High near 37. Northeast wind 5 to 10 mph becoming northwest in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 3 to 5 inches possible.
