Howard County could see some snow this next week so plan accordingly. I have been checking various sources and here is what I have been able to find on the snow chances and dates:
Monday January 25th:
- National Weather Service: Day: A slight chance of snow before 11am, then a slight chance of rain and snow between 11am and 1pm, then rain likely after 1pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 38. East wind 3 to 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. / Night: Rain and snow, possibly mixed with sleet before 3am, then freezing rain, possibly mixed with snow and sleet. Low around 30. Chance of precipitation is 100%.
- WBAL reports: Monday Night – Periods of snow in the evening will transition to a wintry mix overnight. Low 31F. Winds E at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precip 100%. Snow and ice accumulating 3 to 5 inches

- Accuweather.com reports: Day: Cloudy with a bit of snow, sleet and rain in the afternoon, accumulating a coating to an inch / Night: Cloudy; a bit of rain and sleet in the evening followed by a bit of ice late
Tuesday January 26th:
- National Weather Service: Day: Freezing rain, possibly mixed with sleet before 7am, then freezing rain between 7am and 8am, then a chance of rain after 8am. High near 41. Chance of precipitation is 100%.
- Accuweather.com reports: Day: A bit of snow and rain at times in the morning with little or no accumulation; otherwise, cloudy
Wednesday January 27th:
- National Weather Service: Night: A chance of snow after 8pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 25. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
- WBAL reports: Wednesday Night – Snow showers. Low 29F. Winds NE at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of snow 60%. Snow accumulating 1 to 3 inches.
- Weather.com reports: Night: Snow showers. Low 29F. Winds NE at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of snow 60%. Snow accumulating 1 to 3 inches.
Thursday January 28th:
- National Weather Service: Day: A chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 36. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
- WBAL reports: Thursday: Variable clouds with snow showers. High 36F. Winds N at 15 to 25 mph. Chance of snow 60%. Snow accumulating 3 to 5 inches.
- Weather.com reports: Day: Variable clouds with snow showers. High 36F. Winds N at 15 to 25 mph. Chance of snow 60%. Snow accumulating 3 to 5 inches.
- Accuweather.com reports: Day: Mostly cloudy with a chance for snow; breezy in the afternoon
Based on the information above who knows what might happen this next week. I have learned to pay attention but also wait and see what really happens.
