Kudos to Howard County Police Detective Jonathan Berry, whose investigation of a Elkridge bank robbery in February 2019 led to the arrest of a serial bank robber who was sentenced yesterday to 14 years in federal prison.

The United States Attorney for the District of Maryland announced that Duane Burton, 44, of Baltimore, was sentenced for a string of bank robberies in Elkridge, Baltimore, and Delaware between December 2018 and February 2019. On February 8, 2019, Burton robbed the PNC Bank inside Giant Food in Elkridge. Detective Jonathan Berry assumed the case and conducted a thorough investigation that identified Burton as the suspect. HCPD officers arrested Burton later that month. Thanks to Detective Berry’s work on the case, federal investigators were able to connect Burton to the robberies in Baltimore and Delaware. Great job Detective Berry!
