Maryland is notorious for having some of the most gerrymandered districts in the nation, but we believe that voters should choose their representatives—not the other way around.

As a resident of Congressional District 3 in Maryland I am hoping to see progress on this initiative. I have no problem with my current representative from District 3…just an issue with the way the district is drawn.

  1. I agree with your comments above.

It annoys me every time I look at the congressional districts.

For example, in 2011 Western MD got screwed when they neutralized all of the voters from Frederick west to Deep Creek. And, put the deciding voters in Montgomery County for the district. The people in western MD had totally different needs than the voters in Montgomery Co.

Cummings district went from North Ave up to Towson. And, also from North Ave. to Lisbon (western HoCo) . Do you really think Mfume has any interest in helping the citizens in Ellicott City to Lisbon? To confirm his interest, Mfume did very little campaigning in HoCo in Jan-March and none for the Nov. elections.
