Instead of a white Christmas it looks like Howard County will be getting a wet Christmas Eve and a wet and chilly early Christmas morning. Here is information shared by Howard County Government this morning:
WEATHER REMINDER: The US National Weather Service Baltimore/Washington has issued a FLASH FLOOD WATCH for Northwest, Central and Southeast Howard County, in effect from 1:00 p.m. today, December 24th to 4:00 a.m. tomorrow, December 25th. One to three inches of rain is expected this afternoon and tonight, which may result in flash flooding of small streams and creeks as well as urban areas. Please stay tuned to local news television and/or radio stations for the most up-to-date weather forecast.
AND remember, if you come upon a flooded roadway, TURN AROUND, DON’T DROWN. It takes just a mere six inches of fast-moving flood water to knock over an adult, 12 inches of rushing water to carry away a small car and two feet of rushing water to carry away most vehicles.
