The following statement was published by Governor Larry Hogan on December 15th:
It is my sad duty to report that 5,000 Marylanders have now lost their lives to COVID-19. One thousand of these deaths have taken place just since October 31. While many of us have grown numb to the daily statistics, each of these deaths represents somebody’s loved one, and each is a devastating loss for our state.
Yesterday was a day of great hope as the very first Marylanders were vaccinated for COVID-19, but as it is often said, it’s always darkest before the dawn. The weeks and months ahead may well be the most difficult we have experienced since the beginning of the pandemic. I’m calling on Marylanders to stand in solidarity against this deadly virus: we are all in this together, and we will get through this together.
Here my latest chart (looking at the numbers weekly) of reported deaths due to COVID-19 in Maryland (note – the data noted 12/19 is the current week – reported from 12/13 – 12/15):
It is being reported that Howard County now has 160 deaths due to COVID-19 (note – the data noted 12/19 is the current week – reported from 12/13 – 12/15):
If interested in the data behind the charts I have this Google Sheet with the specifics of the data.
Here are important links with data on Coronavirus (COVID-19) numbers:

Here is the site to keep an eye on in Howard County for updates: https://www.howardcountymd.gov/Departments/Health/MM-Alerts-and-Recalls
I have a Google spreadsheet for tracking some of the daily Maryland and Howard County numbers and my weekly numbers: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1OVZO0oIaEC__KXZ9LwtnhawO1NhdqE78VJ9Hd5LCQ0k/edit?usp=sharing
Note: Daily COVID-19 updates going forward will only happen when something significant needs to be reported during the week. Weekly weekend charts will continue to happen on Saturday or Sunday (depending on my schedule and the timing of the release of the information). Monthly charts will be update on (or around) the 1st of each month.
