Howard County Executive Calvin Ball hosted the 5th annual Toys for Tots Giveaway on Saturday, December 12th, at 9:00 a.m. at the Long Reach Village Center in Columbia.
“For five years, Toys for Tots has provided free toys to thousands of children in Howard County. We are grateful for our Marines who started this important initiative to help every child feel special this holiday season,” said Ball. “This year especially, the need to spread joy and support our families in need is so important. I’m thankful for everyone who contributed, donated, and volunteered this year – a testament that Howard County believes in fostering a better community for all and that together we can create a merrier holiday for our neighbors in need.”
This year, there are more than 900 of our most vulnerable families registered to receive gifts for their children. Due to COVID-19 restrictions this year will be drive-through only and families who registered were assigned a unique Family ID so that they may pick up their toys. Toys will only be distributed to families that have been assigned to this distribution.
I was able to make it out to the event for a little while and took the following images:
