It only took nine days for Howard County to go from over 8,000 confirmed cases of COVID-19 to over 9,000 confirmed cases of COVID-19. Today the Maryland Department of Health is reporting 9,004 cases of COVID-19 in Howard County. The number of total cases and new cases reported over the past 9 days is as follows:

I have a Google spreadsheet for tracking some of the daily Maryland and Howard County numbers and my weekly numbers:

Note: Daily COVID-19 updates going forward will only happen when something significant needs to be reported during the week. Weekly weekend charts will continue to happen on Saturday or Sunday (depending on my schedule and the timing of the release of the information). New Monthly charts happen after the 1st of each month.

  1. I think to be clear you should differentiate between positive test results and “cases.” Just because someone receives a positive test result does not mean they are experiencing any symptoms of illness. I have not seen any tracking of actual illness with this disease. Instead we are mistakenly associating positive test results with illness when in fact the overwhelming majority of those who test positive for covid 19 experience no symptoms whatsoever. I think it would help the public’s understanding to emphasize this fact.

  2. THANK YOU for keeping us informed with the latest COVID-19 info- much appreciated!!!! I know its a lot of work!! You are AWESOME!!
