Things have not been great recently for the Baltimore Ravens. Three consecutive loses all by 6 points or less (17-23 at New England, 24-30 vs Tennessee and 14-19 at Pittsburgh) leaves the Ravens in third place in the AFC North (behind the Steelers and Browns) and currently 9th in the playoff picture in the AFC (top 7 teams make the playoffs in 2020):

  • 1. Steelers (11-0)
  • 2. Chiefs (10-1)
  • 3. Titans (8-3)
  • 4. Bills (8-3)
  • 5. Browns (8-3)
  • 6. Dolphins (7-4)
  • 7. Colts (7-4)
  • 8. Raiders (6-5)
  • 9. Ravens (6-5)
  • 10. Patriots (5-6)

Throw in a significant amount of COVID-19 cases over the past week and a half and the possibility of the playoffs might look bleak for the Ravens. Not so fast my friends…take a look at their remaining schedule in 2020:

  • 12/8 vs Cowboys (3-8)
  • 12/14 at Browns (8-3)
  • 12/20 vs Jaguars (1-10)
  • 12/27 vs Giants (4-7)
  • 01/03 at Bengals (2-8-1)

The Ravens will only play one team with a winning record (the Browns) and this is a team the Ravens beat earlier this season (38 to 6 on September 13th). The Ravens get three home games out of their final five games (not sure if that is a good thing as the Ravens are 2-3 at home this season).

Teams above the Ravens in the AFC playoff picture right now have more difficult schedules remaining this season:

  • Browns (Titans, Ravens, Giants, Jets, Steelers)
  • Dolphins (Bengals, Chiefs, Patriots, Raiders, Bills)
  • Colts (Texans, Raiders, Texans, Steelers, Jaguars)
  • Raiders (Jets, Colts, Chargers, Dolphins, Broncos)

My prediction:

I think the Ravens make a run winning four of their last five (or maybe all five) games and will make one of the AFC playoff spots this season.

What do you think? Ravens in the playoffs in this crazy 2020-2021 season or not? Let me know what you think in the comments.
