Maryland Department of Health is reporting 8,066 cases of COVID-19 in Howard County on November 29th. Howard County added 105 new cases over the past 24 hours (this is the 4th highest one day total of new cases through this pandemic for Howard County).

For the month of November 2020 Howard County has added more than 2,100 (2,107 as of today) new cases of COVID-19. The high for any month previous to November was May of 2020 with 1,061 new cases of COVID-19 reported locally.

All COVID-19 metrics are up in Howard County and across the state of Maryland. You can view the most recent Weekly Charts here:

Weekly tracking charts of Coronavirus data in Howard County and Maryland – November 28th

I will have a Monthly look at the data beginning in early December. I am still putting my final touches on those charts and we have one more day of data collection this month.

Here are important links with data on Coronavirus (COVID-19) numbers:

Here is a site to watch for information on Maryland cases: https://phpa.health.maryland.gov/Pages/Novel-coronavirus.aspx

Here is the site to keep an eye on in Howard County for updates: https://www.howardcountymd.gov/Departments/Health/MM-Alerts-and-Recalls

This is a good site to keep up to date with the latest coronavirus updates worldwide:  (Worldometer) https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/ or (Johns Hopkins) https://coronavirus.jhu.edu/map.html.

I have a Google spreadsheet for tracking some of the daily Maryland and Howard County numbers and my weekly numbers:  https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1OVZO0oIaEC__KXZ9LwtnhawO1NhdqE78VJ9Hd5LCQ0k/edit?usp=sharing

Note: Daily COVID-19 updates going forward will only happen when something significant needs to be reported during the week. Weekly weekend charts will continue to happen on Saturday or Sunday (depending on my schedule and the timing of the release of the information). New Monthly charts will begin in early December.

  1. One reason the cases in Howard County are spiking is because of Columbia Mall is not following covid 19 restrictions. On Friday, November 28th and Saturday, November 29th the Mall was packed with people. May of these people were not wearing face coverings properly indoors and outdoors. Unless the Columbia Mall and other malls like Columbia begin to lower the amount of people in the mall the number of Covid casses will rise drastically between on and the end of the year.

  2. Is that 8000 cases right now? Or since the pandemic began. If it’s since the pandemic began, how many cases are current?

    • Since the pandemic began….feel free to look at the data in the Google Spreadsheet….doing what I can to track the data provided.

  3. Wow 8066 out of well over 330,800 people. Let me know when 30,000 people have tested positive, at least that would be close to 10% of the population.
