County Executive Ball to Provide Comprehensive COVID-19 Update
County Executive Calvin Ball will host a press conference on Monday, November 16 at 10:00 a.m. to provide a comprehensive COVID-19 update on Howard County efforts to slow the spread. Ball will be joined by Howard County Health Officer Dr. Maura Rossman, Recreation & Parks Director Raul Delerme, Fire & Rescue Services Chief Bill Anuszewski, Police Chief Lisa Myers, Officer of Emergency Management Director Mike Hinson, and Howard County General Hospital Interim President Dr. Shafeeq Ahmed. The event will be streamed live on Facebook here.
“We’ve been closely monitoring our data in Howard County, and despite being in a better position than some of our neighboring jurisdictions, the nation-wide increases we’re seeing are also happening here in Howard County. This weekend we surpassed a 5% positivity rate have a case rate of more than 20 per 100,000 people in Howard County,” said Ball. “As we approach Thanksgiving and our winter holidays, it is vital that we act swiftly and thoughtfully to stop this spike in cases, keep our residents safe and healthy.”
