Jen Mallo added 2,882 votes to her vote total (15,987 votes) and Sezin Palmer added 2,638 votes to her vote total (14,657 votes) after the November 5th ballot canvassing.

Here are the screenshots from the Maryland State Board of Elections website of the vote totals that I have captured to date:

November 5th

November 4th

November 3rd

According to Mallory Sofastaii WMAR (on November 5th):

JUST IN: @md_sbe reporting 590,778 mail-in ballots have yet to be counted.
–Ballots postmarked by #ElectionDay will be accepted until Nov. 13
–So far, 87 percent of requested mail-in ballots have been returned
Here’s the breakdown by county –>@WMAR2News #MDvotes #elections

###

If you take 35,791 votes reported not yet counted in Howard County on November 5th (prior to the new numbers being released yesterday) – break that out by district:

  • we can guess that about 7,150+ votes per district (plus or minus a bit in each district…I do realize it is not an even distribution
  • and if you consider that not every ballot will have a vote in the Board of Education race (some voters only vote the top of the ballot…not always vote for candidates all the way down on their ballots)
  • 5,604 new votes were added to the District 4 race (between the two candidates and write-in votes added to the count) after the canvassing on November 5th
  • The current difference is now 1,330 votes between the two candidates

Just some things to think about as we wait on the future canvassing to happen. This is the upcoming schedule:

  • Sunday November 8, 2020 – Opening/Scanning of Mail-In Ballots – Lake Elkhorn Gymnasium & Board of Elections Office
  • Thursday November 12, 2020 @ 9:00 AM – Provisional Canvass & Opening/Scanning of Mail-In Ballots – Lake Elkhorn Gymnasium & Board of Elections Office
  • Friday November 13, 2020 – Opening/Scanning of Mail-In Ballots – Lake Elkhorn Gymnasium & Board of Elections Office

I will continue to provide updates as new numbers are released. You can track the total vote counts for all of the local Howard County races here:  https://scotteblog.com/2020-howard-county-election-results/
