Maryland Department of Health reports 1,198 new cases of COVID-19 across the state of Maryland on November 5th. This is the largest one day increase since July 25 (1,288 new cases reported on that day).

Here in Howard County we added 47 new cases of COVID-19. This is the largest one day increase since August 7th (50 news cases reported on that day).

The testing positivity rate for Maryland increased slightly to 4.21% (up 0.11%).

The number of people currently hospitalized dropped slight to 588 (down by 7).
