The Columbia Association posted the following on Facebook:

It has come to our attention that some pretty serious misinformation is being spread about CA, specifically regarding an alleged contribution to a political campaign.

CA does not support individual candidates with financial contributions.

CA Open Space team members believed that a Jen Mallo campaign sign was on CA open space land, so they removed and discarded the sign. Staff later learned that the sign was not on CA open space, and Ms. Mallo requested reimbursement for the discarded sign. The payment of $140 was the reimbursement of the cost of the sign, and was made payable to Friends of Jennifer Mallo, at her request.

We are in the process of reaching out to the Mallo campaign to remove the reimbursement from the record of contributions since this does not fall under that category.

Please SHARE if you’ve seen misinformation about this situation in other posts or conversations. Thank you.

Here is the original campaign finance report listing the contribution from The Columbia Association (page 5):

Here is the amended campaign finance report correcting the error (page 9):

I will have additional details on candidate campaign finance reports tomorrow morning.

  1. This petty garbage has really got to end. I am so glad that I no longer have children in the school system. The adults are acting worse than the children they are supposed to be representing.
