Howard Hospital Foundation, which provides philanthropic support to Howard County General Hospital, will hold Race Across Howard County, a virtual race beginning on Giving Tuesday, Dec. 1, through Dec. 15 where participants run or walk on their own, submit race times and collect donations supporting Howard County General Hospital’s new Nursing Excellence Fund.
“Get active this winter and support Howard County General Hospital,” said Jennifer Smith, vice president of Howard Hospital Foundation. “Our nurses need your support now more than ever, as we serve on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic. Help the hospital’s 800 nurses deliver exceptional patient and family-centered care.”
Registrations, donations and sponsorships for Race Across Howard County benefit the hospital’s Nursing Excellence Fund which supports continuing education and training for nurses, resources to promote their resilience and wellness and tools to improve the quality of care and health outcomes for Howard County General Hospital patients.
Race options include a 26.2-mile marathon, 13.1-mile half-marathon, 3.1-mile 5K or 1-mile fun run or walk, which participants can complete at their own pace anywhere indoors or outdoors. Race registration costs $25, except for the fun run which costs $10, and includes virtual yoga, a virtual bib and optional shirts.
