Baltimore Orioles opened the 2020 season on the road in Boston on opening day (July 24th). To say the game did not go well would be an understatement with the O’s losing 13 to 2 to the Red Sox. Here is a look at some stats from the game:
I do not have a positive note about the pitching from this game looking at the stats for each pitcher. This group was crushed by the Red Sox batters on Friday evening.
Six hits and two runs was not horrible…not great but could have been worse. No batter had more than one hit in the game. Rio Ruiz had the first home run of the 2020 season for the O’s. Eight strikeouts to one walk was not wonderful. The O’s were 1-5 with runners in scoring position.
All eyes will be on Chris Davis this season (or at least I will be watching closely)…he was 0-3 with 1 K. Probably not the opening day he and his fans were hoping for this season.

Game 2 between these two teams happens today at 1:35pm. Alex Cobb will take the mound for Baltimore.
