ARREST: Robbery update
Police have made two arrests in two May 31 robberies in Columbia. An adult male victim who is a taxi driver reported that he was called to the 7000 block of Knighthood Lane to pick up a fare. Upon arriving, he was approached by two suspects with their faces partially covered. The suspects entered the vehicle – one displayed a handgun – and stole cash before fleeing. No one was injured. Later that evening, an adult male victim reported that he was making a pizza delivery to the 6900 block of Little Boots when he was approached by two suspects with their faces partially covered. One suspect displayed a handgun while the other stole the food. One suspect then entered the vehicle and demanded the victim drive to a nearby ATM and withdraw cash. The victim complied. No one was injured. Through investigation, police identified two suspects and arrested them.
ARRESTED: Charles Pickett, 18, of Little Boots in Columbia, charged with two counts each of armed robbery and robbery, and one count each of kidnapping and theft; and Dashay Bell, 16, of Knighthood Lane in Columbia, charged as an adult with armed robbery, robbery, theft, conspiracy to commit kidnapping, and conspiracy to commit armed robbery.
