Every Saturday I plan to provide a weekly look at some of the significant numbers related to cases of Coronavirus in Maryland and Howard County via weekly tracking charts.

Here is the weekly tracking chart looking at the total number of reported cases in Maryland and Howard County:

Note: Maryland and Howard County had the highest number of new COVID-19 cases over a week this past week.

Here are the weekly tracking charts of the number of deaths in Maryland and in Howard County (I still believe that this should be a critical metric to watch closely going forward):

Note: Nice the see the number of deaths in Maryland due to COVID-19 drop to under 330 a week (first time after 4 weeks of 330+ deaths per week).

Here is the weekly tracking chart of hospitalizations in Maryland:

Notes: After 2 weeks of people ever hospitalized trending downward this spikes back up to the 2nd highest number of hospitalizations over a week.

Here is the weekly tracking numbers for new ICU and Acute Hospital Beds for COVID-19, Currently in Use:

Notes: It is nice to see the number of Acute and ICU beds in use to continue to track downwards on the weekly tracking. I am also happy to see the ICU numbers finally on the decline. Let us all hope this trend continues. Howard County always seems to be a day behind in reporting this information on their dashboard…that is why the data for HoCo is from 5/22 and not 5/23.

I may look to add additional charts in the future as I obtain additional data.

Here are important links with data on Coronavirus (COVID-19) numbers:

This is a good site to keep up to date with the latest coronavirus updates worldwide:  (Worldometer) https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/ or (Johns Hopkins) https://coronavirus.jhu.edu/map.html.

A local blog reader has put together this really great and informative Google spreadsheet with some great data. Be sure to give it a look daily: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/19a2ACAQVz_Vi2UIcD-byZXKttTmUd8js6-kd3qLO-Ac/edit#gid=280098391

Note: Daily updates going forward will happen on Monday, Wednesday and Friday (unless something significant needs to be reported on the other days) during the week.
