NEWS RELEASE: Police investigating non-fatal shooting in Columbia

Howard County police are investigating a non-fatal shooting Saturday afternoon in Columbia.

At approximately 4:37 p.m., police responded to the 9600 block of Whiteacre Road for reports of several gunshots. Police did not locate any victims at the scene, but they were notified that a male victim entered Howard County General Hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the arm. Police have not yet confirmed the victim’s identity.

No suspects have been identified at this time and the investigation into the incident is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call 911.

  1. The place is getting deadlier. This now done in broad daylight with no fear of repercussion on the shooters. Thanks for highlighting what the media typically avoid.
    The place is being transformed from a small hamlet to b’more’s new crime backyard with the influx of these high FARM households. The map shows its by Stevens forest village center a relatively well trafficked area. The other day a shooting turned out deadlier by twin rivers.

    Are you going to tell me with all this crime, Columbia is still one of the top 10 places to live in the USA? I mean c’mon even if you ignore all the other systemic political issues, I dont see how anyone can make such a case anymore with a straight face. And for the rest of you who believe so, keep drinking that Kool aid.
