Yesterday Maryland State Delegate (District 9B) Courtney Watson provided information on Facebook about calls she had recently participated in relating to Coronavirus. In that update on social media she provided the following information:

There are cases around Howard County including 21075 26%, 20143, 21042 23% and 21045 34% This is based on 35 cases and will continue to change as testing increases. No area is immune.

I am going to make a guess and say that the 21043 zip code might be 17% (just using my basic math skills here since a % was not noted in the update on Facebook). Interesting that 21046 is not listed above (I say that as a resident in 21046).

ARTICLE UPDATE: Comment on the post from Delegate Watson: Scott, no the 23% is combined 21042/21043. The numbers don’t add up to 100% b/c there are cases all around – these are just the highest percentages on that given day. The health dept is working on getting this kind of information up. Give them time, they are dealing with a lot right now!

I appreciate the clarification on the information provided.

I am glad to see that level of detailed information (thanks Delegate Watson). I seriously wish the Howard County Health Department or Howard County Government provided that level (or city level would be even better) of detail for the residents of Howard County. They obviously have that information and yet it is not listed on the website we have all been told to watch for updates:  https://www.howardcountymd.gov/Departments/Health/MM-Alerts-and-Recalls

Today at 6:30pm “Howard County Executive Calvin Ball to Host Virtual Town Hall on Coronavirus Response on March 26th“. I plan on listening in to the town hall. My hope is that the question related to the specific locations of confirmed cases in Howard County is asked….I think we should have that information.

Do you agree? Let me know in the comments.
