This incident and similar ones in the past (Howard County Police arrest two in series of delivery driver armed robberies)
are probably the reason for the recent social media post by Howard County Police Department on Facebook:

Many people are relying heavily on grocery and take out deliveries as we’re socially distancing while also trying to support our local businesses. In an effort to keep delivery drivers safe, businesses and drivers should consider the following tips:

• Report suspicious delivery requests to police
• Limit cash, strongly encourage credit card payments by phone
• Check delivery address to confirm it’s valid
• Call the number used to place the order when you arrive at the location
• Park as close as possible using headlights to illuminate the delivery location
• Park and walk in well-lit areas if possible
• Be aware of your surroundings
• Carry a flashlight with you
• Have your cell phone ready to dial 911 if you feel uneasy
• Lock your car and take the keys with you during delivery
• Conceal cash so it’s not in plain sight
• If you’re robbed, obey demands and don’t get hurt; be a great witness
