The following was reported on the Howard County Police Daily Crime Logs on March 2nd, March 3rd and March 4th:

Robbery

Columbia, 21044: 10600 block of High Beam Court, March 1 3:15 p.m.

An adult male victim reported that he was making a food delivery to the above location when he was approached by a male suspect with his face partially covered who displayed a handgun and stole cash and a cell phone before fleeing. No one was injured. The investigation is ongoing.

SUSPECT: black male in his late teens, approximately 5’10”-6’0”, 175 pounds, wearing a black winter coat and black hat


Robbery

Columbia, 21045: 7500 block of Monarch Mills Way, March 2 8 p.m.

An adult male victim reported that he was making a food delivery when he was approached by four male suspects, one of whom displayed a knife. The suspects fled without stealing anything. No one was injured. The investigation is ongoing.

An adult male victim reported that he was making a food delivery to the above location when he was approached by a male suspect with his face partially covered who displayed a handgun, assaulted him, and demanded money. The suspect then fled without stealing anything. No serious injuries were reported. The investigation is ongoing.

Two reports of robberies on High Beam Court in just a couple of days. Both incidents reported the use of a handgun. That is all kind of bad.

These are not the first reports of food service delivery people being robbed here in Howard County. Maybe the HCPD will put out some type of statement / advice about it in the near future.

I know we use the food delivery services from time to time (Door Dash is awesome) and they should feel safe in our county when making deliveries.
