The following announcement was sent to the blog from HoCoBOE candidate Mike Sheer to share with my readers:
Dear friends and supporters,
After substantial deliberation, my family and I have decided to suspend my campaign for Board of Education. As many of you know, our family is in the midst of finalizing the adoption of our second son from Seoul, South Korea. Despite South Korea being upgraded to a level 3 warning by the CDC (avoid nonessential travel) our family still expects to travel to once to Seoul for our court appointment and again later to bring our second son home. In light of the increasing global spread of COVID-19 and what that might mean for our adoption process, we felt the need to focus on ensuring our family’s well-being during this time of uncertainty.
I sincerely appreciate all the support I’ve received so far and the interest in my campaign. I look forward to continuing to be engaged with the education community and working with whomever is elected to represent District 4 over the next term.
Thank you all for everything.
That is a bummer that Mike is suspending his campaign but I totally understand why he has made his decision. Family first always.
District 4 now has the following candidates actively running in 2020:
- Kirsten Coombs
- Matt Levine
- Sezin Palmer
- Jen Mallo
One candidate that no one (that I know of) has ever heard from this election cycle:
- Daniel J. Margolis
I will have a lot more on the HoCoBOE election in 2020..so stay tuned.
