ARREST: Residential burglary update

Police have made an arrest in three residential burglaries in the Columbia area.

Sept. 24, 2019, 5200 block of Hesperus Drive: The suspect entered the residence through a rear door and stole electronics, cash, and jewelry.

Jan. 27, 2020, 5600/5700 block of Harpers Farm Road: A resident in the 5600 block of Harpers Farm Road reported that his apartment was entered and his bicycle was stolen. A resident in the 5700 block of Harpers Farm Road reported that a male suspect entered his apartment through a rear slider then fled without stealing anything. No signs of forced entry were observed.

Through investigation, police identified the suspect and arrested him. Tyrek Javar Scott, 20, of Jones Valley Circle in Baltimore, is charged with multiple counts of burglary
