ARREST: Robbery update

Police have made an arrest in a Jan. 10 robbery in the 7200 block of Cradlerock Way in Columbia. An adult male victim reported that he arranged online to purchase a cell phone. When he arrived at the agreed upon location, two male suspects entered his vehicle and one displayed a gun and demanded cash. Both suspects ultimately fled without stealing anything. A gun was recovered at the scene. No one was injured. Through investigation, police identified one suspect and arrested him. The suspect was also charged with a Dec. 13 robbery in the 7300 block of Hickory Log Circle in Columbia in which several suspects assaulted a teenage male victim and stole his cell phone and sneakers.

ARRESTED: Elijah Dennis Mays, 19, of Melvin Avenue in Catonsville, charged in the Jan. 10 robbery with armed robbery, robbery, and assault, and charged in the Dec. 13 robbery with robbery, assault, and theft

  1. This is great news! Glad to know HoCo Police are on top of things. I find it interesting that the 2 suspects fled and left the gun behind. Hopefully perps who consider areas of HoCo as their next gig will think twice knowing they will likely be caught by police.
