ARTICLE UPDATE: Email received today –

Good afternoon HCPSS friends and family,
Thank you again for volunteering your time! HCPSS has canceled ALL activities tomorrow due to the pending inclement weather. This includes our conference.
The new conference date is February 1st at 8am at the Applications and Research Lab allowing students to celebrate the Chinese New Year on January 25th. Please let us know if you are available to judge.
We are thrilled to have so many talented professionals support our students! Enjoy a safe and warm weekend!

I will still be attending the event on February 1st.

I will have the great honor to serve as a judge at the Maryland Future Business Leaders of America Region 5 Conference on January 18th at the Applications and Research Lab in Ellicott City.

Over 400 high school students from across the county will be competing at the event on Saturday.

I noticed that HCPSS had tweeted out a need for judges and thought this would be a great opportunity to utilize my experience and help out with this event:

Categories students will compete in at the event on Saturday include:

  • Broadcast Journalism and Electronic Career Portfolio
  • Business Ethics
  • Coding & Programming and Computer Game Design Simulation
  • Website Design
  • E-Business
  • Emerging Business Issues
  • Graphic Design
  • Impromptu Speaking and Intro to Public Speaking
  • Social Media Campaign
  • Public Speaking and Sales Presentation
  • Publication Design
  • Public Service Announcement
  • Job Interview, Mobile App Development and Client service
  • Business Presentation

I will be a judge in the Website Design category. I look forward to seeing what the students demonstrate at the event. I think this will be a lot of fun.
